New contracts for Schneider Electric in Australia
Schneider Electric equipment has been used in major upgrade projects at three of Australia’s key air force bases including Amberley, a key installation with power supply reliability requirements well above average.
Schneider Electric in Australia was chosen for the HV power supply and the new Power Control and Monitoring System (PMCS), the first high-tech PCMS for the RAAF in Australia.
A major challenge of the upgrade project was to provide the military base with an electricity supply of higher reliability than is needed in a commercial situation. Power also had to be maintained at all stages of the upgrade.
Because of a strict time frame, the project’s Managing Contractor, BLL, went to tender direct for long lead time items. Schneider Electric in Australia won the contract. The subsidiary company was also ordered for upgrades at RAAF bases in Darwin and Townsville.
