Ford’s Amazon project in Brazil
Ford Motors Co has selected Schneider Electric Brazil as the preferred supplier for LV electrical components at its new production site in Camaçari, Bahia State. The facility, scheduled to come on stream in August 2001, will produce a new Ford model. Recommended by Ford to all of its partners, Schneider Electric will supply contactors, overload relays, circuit breakers, control buttons, button boxes, illuminated indicator banks, plugs and sockets. The local subsidiary will also provide training, technical support and maintenance and handle parts inventory on site.

Following the acquisition of Primeletrica, which makes switches and residential sockets, Schneider Electric now has more than 800 employees in Brazil at four production sites and 4 sales agencies. The Company also benefits from broad marketing coverage in Brazil, with 300 sales outlets for Schneider Electric products and 2,000 outlets for Primeletrica’s lineup.
