Power station in Vanuatu
UNELCO, a subsidiary of Suez-Lyonnaise des Eaux, selected Schneider Electric Pacific Islands in 1997 to equip the power station in Port Vila (capital of Vanuatu*).
In 2000, UNELCO wanted to increase the city's energy production with the construction of a new power station and therefore renewed its partnership with Schneider Electric. The contract is valued at $ 208 507 and includes a preliminary evaluation of the network and supply of all electrical equipment, with latest-generation solutions comprising remote monitoring and control.
Our comprehensive offering (digital system, protection, MV switchboards, MV cubicles, transformers) enabled UNELCO to double its energy production capacity and to have remote monitoring and control capability from the old to the new power station.
*Vanuatu is a Melanesian state (a part of Oceania, including Bismarck Island, the Salomon Islands, New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Fiji Islands).
