Schneider Electric Youth Opportunities Foundation awards prizes to eight young entrepreneurs
On December 12, the Schneider Electric Youth Opportunities Foundation awarded eight prizes—including a jury prize and a «people’s choice» prize—to young entrepreneurs participating in the «Do you have what it takes to start a company?» program. This initiative, launched in France in April 2000, has been a resounding success. «The foundation received more than 50 applications, which is pretty good for a new program,» says Gilles Vermot-Desroches, General Manager of the Foundation. «We’re planning to expand the program to all the countries where Schneider Electric operates.»
Fabien Morel, 27, a SUPAERO engineering graduate, won the jury prize for his patent on a rectangular-cycle rotary storage unit that can handle large quantities of products and for the company he created to develop the innovation near Grenoble. He will receive a grant of FF 100,000 and support from Schneider Electric employees for a year.
The «people’s choice» prize will be awarded to Laetitia Lagardère, 29, an accounting graduate, for her scented «illuminated» jewelry and bouquets. She will receive a grant of FF 60,000 and support from Schneider Electric employees for a year.
