MGE UPS Systems builds new manufacturing facility in China
MGE UPS Systems has announced plans to build a second manufacturing facility in China to strengthen its presence in Asia. The plant, located in Shanghai, will produce the Galaxy 3000 and Galaxy PW° ranges of medium voltage (up to 200 kVA) uninterruptible power supplies to meet demand in the Asia-Pacific region for computer room protection. The company’sShenzhen facility already serves the Asian market with the Pulsar Ellipse range of 0 to 4 kVA micro-UPSs for PCs. The Shanghai plant is expected to roll out its first products in September 2001.
«The Asian markets currently account for 28% of the world UPS market and offer the best near-term growth prospects, along with the Americas. By manufacturing medium voltage UPSs in Asia, we will be able to meet growing demand in emerging Internet and telecommunications infrastructure markets, where we have already won major contracts,» says Claude Graff, Chief Operating Officer of MGE UPS Systems.
