AEG Schneider Automation: The new leading global supplier in Automation Controller Markets
AEG Daimler-Benz Industrie and Groupe Schneider announced the startup of their 50/50 joint venture, AEG Schneider Automation International SAS, in Frankfurt today, following approval of antitrust authorities in the USA and Europe.
The common company reaches a total turnover of US-$ 550 million with 2,500 employees. AEG Schneider Automation combines the business of AEG's international division Modicon located in Germany and USA with the PLC-related business of Schneider's Telemecanique in France and Square D in USA.
AEG Schneider Automation brings a uniquely balanced presence to markets in Europe, America and the Asia-Pacific region. Both partners see special customer advantages in the vastly expanded global sales, consulting and service network, as well as, in the improved cost position resulting from synergies in R&D, manufacturing and sales.
The scope of supply is based on well-established products and systems in programmable logic controller technology of the trademarks Modicon, Telemecanique, April and Sy/Max. Best customer support, continuity and comprehensive compatibility with the existing product lines has the highest priority for the management of AEG Schneider Automation.
The proportionally comprised 8-member Board of Directors is presided over by Daniel Melin, President. The also proportional 4-member Board of Management headquarted in Seligenstadt in Germany is led by Paul White, Directeur General.
